Before Travel

Weather in Arusha
- According to Tanzania Meteorological Authority Monthly Weather Forecast for June 2023:
- North Eastern Highlands (Kilimanjaro, Arusha and Manyara regions):
Temperature: 18 degrees at night and day temperature can go up to 24-25 degrees. Also, dry conditions with isolated light to moderate rains are expected especially over high ground areas.
Conference Logistics
- Please Ensure you have filled a copy of the conference logistics form. This will help us trace you from the point of arrival to the conference venue as well as your hotel. If you have not filled it yet please click here
At The Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)
- After clearing at the immigration department, please lookout for ICMDA World Congress Banners
- Our Congress Logistics Team, together with ACTS Africa will be there to receive you.
- While at the airport you can purchase local sim cards, convert your currency to the local currency. However, this can also be done in Arusha town. There are ATM Machines in strategic locations in Arusha next to the AICC. (NOT IN AICC)
- If you have already booked your airport transfer with ACTS Africa, They will handle your movement as per your request. If you have not yet booked airport transfer, our logistics team will help facilitate the transfer at the delegate's cost.
- The rates depend on group transport or individual- anywhere between 10-45 Dollars per person. Our teams will be available at the airport from the 19th of June 2023

AT The Conference Venue (AICC)
- You will start at the Registration desk
- After verification and clearance at the registration desk, you will receive a name tag, a conference program booklet, conference bag, a pen and a note book e.tc.
- Please ensure that you have paid the full registration fee or have received a registration bursary by the time you arrive at the AICC
Accommodation
- Those who booked budget accommodation will be expected to pay for their accommodation at this desk which will be next to the registration desk in AICC. The money should be in US Dollars
- Those who arrive at night will head straight to the hotels and do the payment the following day at the conference venue.
- To spend extra days at the budget hotels, you will have to make private arrangements with the hotels
- If you are to arrive earlier than 19th June, please ensure the congress organizing tea are aware. The best way to do this is by filling the logistics form
- In case you booked with Acts Africa, they will be having a desk next to us to attend to your accommodation issues.
- Those who have not yet booked can also use this opportunity to book via ACTS Africa or the congress team.
Conference Program
Meals during the conference
- At the conference venue you will be provided with ten o'clock tea, lunch & evening tea
- Dinner will be provided for 3 nights: Wednesday 21st, Thursday 22nd & Saturday 24th
- The rest of the nights you can network as you look for the local cuisine
Cultural Night
- This will be a night to showcase and celebrate our diverse national/cultural heritage
- Please come with your country flags/ National attire to wear that night
- You can prepare short presentations as ICMDA Regions and forward to the congress organizers on time for consideration
Post Congress Tours & Safaris
- Acts Africa will be accepting bookings at this stage incase you had not booked for any
Not Able To Travel
- Those who will not be able to join the conference for any reason. There will be live broadcast for the plenary sessions. Breakout session will be recorded and uploaded on the website after the congress
