Dr Edith Kwobah
Edith Kwobah is a consultant psychiatrist, the head of the Department of Mental Health, and the acting director of mental health and rehabilitative services at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, Eldoret Kenya. She is an honorary lecturer at Moi and Kabarak Universities. She is the Co-Chair AMPATH Mental health working group, Vice Chair of Institutional Research and Ethics Committee of Moi University and MTRH, current Kenya Psychiatrists Association National Continuous Development Coordinator and a member of the Kenya Mental Health board. Edith completed her Undergraduate in Medicine in 2007 a master of medicine in Psychiatry in 2013, and a PHD at UCT in 2020. Her main interest is increasing community awareness and accessibility to mental health care for rural communities. She has participated in various care and research projects, including the construction of the first ever transition home for mentally ill patients in Kenya, which was implemented in partnership with IU and funded by Astellas Global Health Foundation.
