Dr Russell Clark
Russell is a retired doctor, living with his second wife, Evelyn Hoven, at Anglicare Villages, Castle Hill 2154, Sydney.
In 2015 he was honored by his birth country, Australia, becoming a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for services to Medicine within Australia and overseas.
Following specialist training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (1968-70), Sydney, and the King’s College Hospital, London, under Roger Williams at the Liver Unit (1971-72), Russell was accepted by the Church Missionary Society (Australia) with his first wife, Kay, to be a medical missionary.
Russell served as the founding Head of the Department of Medicine at the new 640 bed hospital, the United Christian Hospital, Hong Kong from 1974-84.
On return to Sydney, Russell was appointed as the Founding Head of the Department of Geriatric Medicine at St Vincent’s hospital and as a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) from 1984-2001.
Russell and Kay were again accepted as missionaries with CMS, and this time Russell served at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre from 2002-2008, serving as the Senior Physician and as Assoc Professor of the Tumaini University.
Russell was reappointed as Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Medicine UNSW from 2009-2016, when he ended his medical practice, remaining active in family, church and CMDFA affairs.
